Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

After karmic fresh install with grub2 1.97~beta4-1ubuntu3 everything
worked as expected, the boot menu showed up for the default timeout
value 10 sec. and could be interrupted with Up-Down-Keys. After upgrade
to 1.97~beta4-1ubuntu5 from karmic-proposed, system boots off
immediately in any case. Tried ESC, Shift during boot, deleting
/boot/grub/grubenv, playing with timeout values in /etc/default/grub, no
effect. Btw., update-grub was done, a GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX option has been
taken over sucessfully.

Hardware is a LG-X110 Notebook (MSI Wind Clone).

Appending files /etc/default/grub, /boot/grub/grub.cfg, /var/log/syslog

** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
