The screensaver didn't appeare and the gss-debug.txt file is still empty. Note that sometimes the screensaver appears. It seems it doesn't depend on the running desktop applications. Those settings look okay. When the screensaver doesn't come up, is the gnome-screensaver process still running? Can you start it by hitting Ctrl-Alt-L? Into a shell, I ran this command line:

After a few minutes (my screensaver should start after 1 minute),
was gnome-screensaver actually running and the screen was updated because:
- the content of the virtual console changed
- the shell displayed this kind of output:

I meant the shell was displaying the gnome-screensaver process name from ps with different dates for ever. Could you please try killing gnome-screensaver and running: gnome-screensaver --debug ~/gss-debug.txt 21 Wait 10 minutes withough moving keyboard or mouse and attach the log file here.
