Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mountall
If some of the mounts in /etc/fstab cannot be mounted, mountall prints a warning to usplash of the form "The following file systems could not yet be mounted... press ESC for a recovery shell". Unfortunately, pressing ESC does not do anything at all, no recovery shell is coming up (I also explicitly changed to the text console). Ctrl-Alt-Del does not trigger a restart either, so the system has can only be recovered with a hard reboot. Steps to reproduce: 1. Insert some non-existing mount point into /etc/fstab. E.g. "/dev/mapper/missing /mnt ext4 defaults 0 0". 2. Reboot ** Affects: mountall (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- System freezes if some file systems cannot be mounted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517602 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
