I am sorry, I don't have this notebook anymore since about 7-8 years now. Consider that my last comment was from 2006 -- you might want to put someone from the newer commenters from 2008-2009 on subscription. Confirming. I have the same behaviour in Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) with the Trident Cyberblade i1 controller. Okay, I now tried the trident driver of knoppix, but it still doesnt fix it. Then it must have something to do with the combination of driver and some other factors which are in kubuntu but not in knoppix...
