[Bug 525582] Re: Maximumize goes under panels in some multihead arrangements
This is a gnome-panel bug, see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=636842. There are a number of similar bugs filed upstream for metacity as well, but this is definitely gnome-panel being weird. It does not set the _NET_WM_STRUT property correctly when panels are adjacent to other screens. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #636842 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=636842 ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => Confirmed ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Sam "SmSpillaz" Spilsbury (smspillaz) ** Also affects: compiz via https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=636842 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525582 Title: Maximumize goes under panels in some multihead arrangements -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for adding that information. You should be able to attach a .tar file if you want to submit multiple uploads.(Have not checked recently on that) We are almost finished getting all the information we need. Could you please run on the system having the issue. apport-collect -v -p compiz 525582 ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Maximumize goes under panels in some multihead arrangements https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525582 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Press whatever key you bound Maximumize to (Alt+F3 for me), and this happens: ** Attachment added: "Window is under the right-side panel." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/39501265/2.png -- Maximumize goes under panels in some multihead arrangements https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525582 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 525582] Re: Maximumize goes under panels in some multihead arrangements
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
