[Bug 526070] Re: [FFe] Inclusion of Mapnik 0.7.0
I have tested gpsdrive, it builds and works with the new mapnik (tested in my pbuilder for the buid and my vm for the test) -- [FFe] Inclusion of Mapnik 0.7.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/526070 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

libmapnik-dev has one rdepend, gpsdrive. Re: [Bug 526070] Re: [FFe] Inclusion of Mapnik 0.7.0
I am preparing the FFe request based on a merge proposal with debian testing, and thus I will test the rdepends. [Bug 526070] Re: [FFe] Inclusion of Mapnik 0.7.0
** Description changed: Mapnik is one of the main tools used in GIS in both server side and client side (thanks to the different bindings). Currently the version included in the repository is the 0.6.1, but 0.7.0 is out for some time and it would be great to have it included in lucid due the LTS aspect of that release. In fact 0.7.0 is (quoting upstream), essentially 0.6.2 in spirit, but we have to increment the ABI because C++ is a bit touchy. We can also rely on a very present, and active upstream that is following bugs directly in launchpad and I have very good intreactions with them. The 0.7.0 fixes a lot of bugs that are present in the 0.6.1, as stated in the diff of the Upstream's Changelog. + The examples that are present in the ubuntu packages, which are provided + by upstream, tests the main features of mapnik, they are of course + successfully building and running using 0.7.0. - The examples that are present in the ubuntu packages, which are provided by upstream, tests the main features of mapnik, they are of course successfully building and running using 0.7.0. + Mapnik 0.7.0 is now in debian testing, and it includes most of the + ubuntu specific changes so a merge to debian testing would be a wise + choice. -- [FFe] Inclusion of Mapnik 0.7.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/526070 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 526070] Re: [FFe] Inclusion of Mapnik 0.7.0
It will be really good to have 0.7.0 included. I've been using it on karmic for some time with postgis and it works really well. I'm now using 0.7.1 (to be released) and is working perfectly as well. -- [FFe] Inclusion of Mapnik 0.7.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/526070 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 526070] Re: [FFe] Inclusion of Mapnik 0.7.0
Thanks Christophe for working to get Mapnik 0.7.0 in Lucid - all tests are passing for me on lucid and this would be a great thing to have included in the LTS. Hopefully the release managers can approve soon. - Dane (Upstream Mapnik developer) -- [FFe] Inclusion of Mapnik 0.7.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/526070 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
