I can confirm this is also happening in Lucid when running "hp-systray"

[Bug 526676] Re: [Lucid] PyOS_InputHook is not available for interactive use of PyGTK set_interactive(1)

2011-03-17 Thread jasonsmr
This is a bug in open_SUSE11.4 as well starting my HPLIP Program KDE4
krunner/plasma tray icon in a terminal gives this error.

Im not sure why the hp-tray is running in a terminal , unless Its not
meant to do so, and I specified it to do so.

However that still should not be the cause of the error.

tp_compare didn't return -1 or -2 for exception

ImportError: PyCapsule_Import could not import module "gi"
/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/gtk-2.0/gtk/__init__.py:127: RuntimeWarning:
PyOS_InputHook is not available for interactive use of PyGTK
  set_interactive(1)

I recall that a few programs require this package PyGTK, and that Im not
quite sure which deb. or in mycase RPM actually provides the version
that HPLIP or rather hp-tray wants. (in my case)

any suggestions welcome

[Bug 526676] Re: [Lucid] PyOS_InputHook is not available for interactive use of PyGTK set_interactive(1)

2010-11-24 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
I can confirm this in Maverick, but I'm not sure if it's PyGtk or aptdaemon
issue.
I have a Python script that runs the following code:
trans = yield apt_client.update_cache()
action = UPDATE
dia = AptProgressDialog(trans)
dia.set_icon_name("update-manager")
dia.connect("finished", self._on_finished, action)
dia.run()
It gets this error and update dialog doesn't appear.

Maybe I do something wrong?
