The trouble is that they all have very different descriptions, which could cause issues in keeping track of the specific problem. Err, indeed. Sorry to do this, but could we get some feedback on that? Designs can have bugs, too, until proven otherwise :) Given that a stated goal of the application indicator system is to integrate with whatever platform it's on, it seems odd that our GNOME implementation would go to these lengths to look like SWT. I recall reading a document on the Wiki, at some point, which said this was done temporarily to poke out improper applications of icons. Icons in menus would cause horrible looking indented text, so they would stand out and get fixed instead of just glossed over. However, as we approach beta 1 and every new indicator thus far has the same misused icons (no longer just a model example of what not to do, as in the Rhythmbox indicator), it seems that debugging-centric code will end up landing in final (much like the intentionally horrible popup window notify-osd falls back to).
