I'm having this problem in 10.04, or one very much like it. I cannot print to my CUPS print server from windows machines running Adobe Reader. I've also rsync 3.2 MB of 1.4.1-5ubuntu2.2 to / without IO errors before the downgrade. Your error_log shows D [04/Mar/2010:17:00:15 +0100] [Job 4939] cat: write error: No space left on device So it seems that CUPS is not able to create the temporary files needed to process your print jobs due to lack of disk space.
