This problem is still present in debian squeeze with gstreamer 0.10 ** Message: Missing plugin: gstreamer|0.10|totem-plugin-viewer|decoder application/x-mpegts-private-section|decoder-application/x-mpegts- private-section (decoder application/x-mpegts-private-section) I think it is related to teletext, as audio and video play ok after cancelling. I use vdr with vdr-live plugin, and this is quite annoying, I need to press Cancel button everytime I open a TV channel, as video stops playing (you get a paused frame) until you Cancel or try to download the plugin with package manager unsuccessfully.
