it makes sens now.

sudo preserves $HOME IIRC, which might be the problem here. But you
don't quote the error message ...

Second issue: --recv-keys is a gpg command, whereas --keyserver is an
option. gpg expects options before commands. So the first --recv-keys
might be a problem in several cases. But that's JFTR.

It works from the root user account without any issues. So become root
or try the -H switch of sudo or fix the sudoers file - I guess this will
help. Please ask such things on your favourite Ubuntu user

[Bug 540126] Re: Please upgrade bluefish to 2.0.0 version

2010-05-29 Thread nomnex
Daniel, when a key is missing on Ubuntu, I usually pass the command:

sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com
{N}

>From your page http://debian.wgdd.de/debian/#gpgkey, I have tried the
command:

sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys
0xE394D996

(but the command returned an error msg., would you be kind enough to
give me the correct syntax, if I have to re-install a key located on an
external server.)

-

I did not know the "--reinstall" switch, my comment #9 "[re]-installing"
implied passing the command "sudo apt-get install wgdd-archive-keyring"
over again. -- we all have been newbie once...

-

Again thank you for your kind answers and BlueFish 2.0 package. It is
the first time I am using a Debian repository.

[Bug 540126] Re: Please upgrade bluefish to 2.0.0 version

2010-05-29 Thread Daniel Leidert
A simple `apt-get install $package" has no effect on an installed
package, which you should already know, when you use a Debian-based
Linux. You have to tell apt-get, that you want to install the package
again via the `--reinstall' switch. Comment #9 is probably wrong. I
doubt you have really reinstalled the package.

Besides possible (obvious) ways to restore the key: e.g. removing the
package and installing it again or following the two alternative ways
described on my pages (there are 3 ways of getting the key - via
package, via key from my server and via public key servers), you can
simply run:

apt-get install --reinstall wgdd-archive-keyring

Please read the information I provided. I'm not willing to give you
personal assistance for things, which have already been described.

2010-03-17 Thread Daniel Leidert
The package you mention from the PPA have several issues. These are
mostly based on the packaging of the bluefish 1.0 series (which I'm
responsible for). The packaging files have not been adjusted for the
changes in bluefish and list outdated build- and runtime-dependencies.
These packages won't be part of Bluefish repositories and I cannot
suggest to add it to Ubuntu. And again: There are packages of Bluefish
2.0 built for Ubuntu versions 9.04 and 9.10 at debian.wgdd.de. These are
the packages, which will go into Debian and then synced to Ubuntu. If
anybody decides different, then live with the results.

Hi!

Thanks the fast answer! I found it is a PPA too
(https://launchpad.net/~klaus-vormweg/+archive/ppa), but it would be
great, if this package will be the part of the official repository.

OK, I'm waiting for the bugfix and use the PPA version.
