** Description changed:
How do I change default Operating System boot-up for GRUB menu?
is wrong in all Ubuntu documentation, including Dapper Drake (
https://help.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/desktopguide/C/partitions-booting.html as
example).
It states that you should change the line in question to:
default X_sequence
- which will do nothing it if is interpretted literally (as any non-expert
would). An example of a person who has misunderstood these instruction (as most
people would) is visible at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=250229 . A
more clear version that gets around this problem is shown at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GrubHowto/ChangeDefaultOS . In my view something
similar to this should be incorporated into all Ubuntu documentation to avoid
confusing users.

+ Ideally a simple graphical system would be implemented to control the boot
loader from the Administration menu.
Hope someone can attend to this soon. Thanks,
