It seems that this bug applies for me also. I can rip cd, read data DVD/CD but can't hear audio CD or play DVD. I have the same problem with lucid 2.6.32-23. The drive will read data CDs, but audio CDs are not recognized. Hi, I tried kernel 2.6.34-999 amd64 with Karmic. I hop it's the one I was suppose to test. All behaves exactly the same.
