Re: [Bug 565560] Re: Couldn't open audio: No available audio device
I found my problem. Apparently, I stuck SDL_AUDIODRIVER=pulse in my environment sometime when I was floundering with a different audio problem. I took that out of my environment, and I'm all good now. Thanks. --Ryan On Thu, 22 Apr 2010, shankao wrote: > I have tested for this bug in lucid and, although I see the crossed out > speaker in the game selection menu, I don't get any error in the console > and the sound in the games works fine. [Bug 565560] Re: Couldn't open audio: No available audio device
I have tested for this bug in lucid and, although I see the crossed out speaker in the game selection menu, I don't get any error in the console and the sound in the games works fine. Here is my console output: $ exult Exult version 1.2 Built at: Jan 5 2010 18:01:49 Compile-time options: HAVE_TIMIDITY_BIN, USE_EXULTSTUDIO, HAVE_ZIP_SUPPORT Compiler: gcc, version: 4.4.3 20100105 (prerelease) Platform: Linux version 2.6.32-21-generic Exult path settings: Data : /usr/share/games/exult Digital music : /usr/share/games/exult/music Music player: Internal SDL_mixer timidity synthesiser Black Gate : not found (./static/endgame.dat) exult_bg.flx : found Serpent Isle : found exult_si.flx : found -- Couldn't open audio: No available audio device https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/565560 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 565560] Re: Couldn't open audio: No available audio device
Which ubuntu version are you using? Did you installed exult from the official repositories? Did you found any installation error? Particularly, this can be an error regarding the timidity package not being installed or correctly configured. Could you add the output of the "apt-cache showpkg timidity" command? ** Changed in: exult (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Couldn't open audio: No available audio device https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/565560 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
