[Bug 566026] Re: MoviePlayer does not display unless at full screen

2014-01-07 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
candtalan, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 566026] Re: MoviePlayer does not display unless at full screen

2010-05-18 Thread Irvine
Same problem here. On 64bit AMD using [SiS] M760GX video (Acer 5003).

Workaround works perfectly, thanks! It seems Minitube is still affected
though.

[Bug 566026] Re: MoviePlayer does not display unless at full screen

2010-05-06 Thread mprince
Same problem here as #1-- also using 10.04 full release.

VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. KM400/KN400/P4M800 [S3
UniChrome] (rev 01)
No desktop effects

If I double click on a video file, the playback is black with an
occasional flash of an image. The audio plays fine. If I move the window
using the mouse, I can see the video, but then it returns to black when
I release.

For whatever reason, the playback works fine if I launch Totem using the
Applications menu and then drag-n-drop a video file to it. There is a
small ammount of flicker when the video starts, but otherwise plays back
fine.

***This helps as a workaround***
Press Alt+F2 and run gstreamer-properties-- on the video tab, change the
default output plugin to "X Window System (No Xv)."

[Bug 566026] Re: MoviePlayer does not display unless at full screen

2010-05-01 Thread Peter
Continuing from #5

Commenting out "options radeon modeset=0" and having the visual/desktop
effects on NORMAL enables the player to function normally.

[Bug 566026] Re: MoviePlayer does not display unless at full screen

2010-05-01 Thread Peter
Same problem as in #1 using 10.04 full release.

VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 SE] (rev 01)
No desktop effects
Have added "options radeon modeset=0" to created file
/etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf
(Seems to stop mouse cursor corruption)

Audio file: in movieplayer works normally, plays ok.
audio file play visualisation - is normal and ok

[Bug 566026] Re: MoviePlayer does not display unless at full screen

2010-04-23 Thread candtalan
video: I am not sure about the driver, however lspci shows:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics
Controller (rev 02)
I will certainly try to get more information if someone can say which actions
to use, thanks

Audio file: in movieplayer works normally, plays ok.
audio file play visualisation - is normal and ok

VLC works normally

mplayer:
installed gnome-mplayer:
plays and displays normally no problems

thanks

which video driver do you have? do you get the same with a visualization
and an audio file? does mplayer or vlc behave the same way? Thanks.
