[Bug 567659] Re: Flickery Display upon using XRANDR extension, for multiple monitors or otherwise

2010-04-29 Thread OmniUni
I took some pictures to add to this. The first shot is of my laptop LCD
after manually killing X. Right now, I can't even get X back all the way
after killing it.

Second pic shows a cloned display almost working. You can't tell, but
the TV is wavy, and both screens are at some low resolution.

Third pic is what happens when I tried to just set my laptop LCD back to
native resolution. The same thing happens if I try making an extended
desktop.

apport information

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

- This is related to a previous bug I filed, but this time, I am using the
- latest Lucid Lynx packages of the driver. I tried to launch World of Goo
- (which I had configured to use xrandr to adjust screen resolution) and
- it resulted in my display going completely wacky. Right now, it is still
- flickering all over the place. It is the same effect I as the one I get
- when attempting to add a secondary monitor. I have reported the bug
- using the supplied command as well.
