Still no print from gedit when logged in as USER but gedit prints correctly when logged in as ROOT. Is this a clue? All text files will not print from gedit. I have attached just one of many. Print to file of either .pdf, .ps or .svg do not produce these files. Do I need to do an uninstall/reinstall of gedit to cure problem? There are two problems: 1. The PDF generated by gedit (or perhaps gedit's PDF passed through the pdftopdf filter of CUPS) is broken, so that foomatic-rip cannot determine the number of pages via Ghostscript). 2. foomatic-rip does neither error out nor render anyway if it is not able to determine the number of pages of the document. Adding foomatic- filters task. I am not able to reproduce the problem. Can you attach the text files here with which the problem occurs for you? Can you also print into a file and save it in PDF format and then attch this file?
