[Bug 571392] Re: package bcmwl-kernel-source 5.60.48.36 bdcom-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2011-01-05 Thread Alberto Milone
I think what Brian said is correct. I can't see anything wrong in the
output that Michael posted, apart from the errors caused by bug 557023.

I'm marking this report as invalid. Thanks for your time.

Looking at this again this is likely a duplicate of bug 557023 which is
regarding using update-initramfs on LiveMedia and /vmlinuz not being
available.

Ask Dell about this. They created a factory install disk that fixes this
on their hardware. It requires a reinstall so it would be better if you
fixed it as well.

2010-12-08 Thread Christophe LAVARENNE
Turnaround first step: under live session, connect ethernet wire to
download Wifi Broadcom restricted driver: OK.

But then, trying to install Ubuntu10.10 from live session, got error
package bcmwl-kernel-source 5.60.48.36+bdcom-0ubuntu5 failed to
install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned
error exit status 1: KO, installation failed.

Turnaround second step: instead of trying to install from live session,
reboot from usb boot drive, with ethernet wire connected, and install
directly from boot menu (without launching live session): OK, install
succeeds.
