[Bug 574538] Re: synchronization does not work

2010-06-25 Thread Mitch Towner
Hi Greg. File sync speed is a lot faster now the server-side issues are fixed
(although they are still being fine-tuned). Can you please advise whether you
are still experiencing this issue?
If you are experiencing this issue, please upload fresh logs by archiving your
$HOME/.cache/ubuntuone/log/ folder and attach the zip here.
Thanks in advance!

All appears to be working fine now. Although the daemon uses a bit of
CPU at startup.

Status in “ubuntuone-client” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

 Bug description:
 Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

For 3 days I have not been able to synchronize.

The UO icons starts off as disconnected, I ask it to connect and it looks
 like it has.
But it never starts to synchronize files.  Files created on the web are not
 downloaded and
files added  locally are not uploaded.

If I try to disconnect, nothing happens.

 No errors are reported
nothing about ubuntu one in anything in /var/log/messages except
 /var/log/popularity-contest

[Bug 574538] Re: synchronization does not work

2010-05-29 Thread Mitch Towner
I appreciate the frustration you are experiencing. The Lucid release
brought a record number of new users that severely degraded performance.
The U1 team is working hard to fix the slow system performance.

From looking through your attached logs, it appears that your client is
stuck in a STANDOFF state. The packages shipped with Karmic are rather
old now. I would suggest you upgrade to more recent packages using the
PPA. The instructions on how to do this are outlined at
https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/836.

Thanks in advance!

[Bug 574538] Re: synchronization does not work

2010-05-04 Thread Mitch Towner
I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One is not working properly for you. If you
would like to help debug the problem that would be greatly appreciated.
You can do the following in order to provide important details that will
help determine the root cause of this issue.

1) Quit the Ubuntu One client. Right-click on the Ubuntu One applet and select
'Quit'

2) Open Applications-Accessories-Terminal, then run the command:
mv ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log_old mkdir
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log

3) Run the following in the Terminal to open/create this file:
gedit ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf

#Add the following two (2) lines to this file and save:
[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG

4) Open Ubuntu One Applications-Internet-Ubuntu One

5) Let Ubuntu One run for a while, copy some files into your Ubuntu One Folder.
Then attach your ubuntuone logs to this bug. Please zip your
$HOME/.cache/ubuntuone/log/ folder and attach the zip here.

You can attach logs to this bug report by clicking the 'Add Attachment
or patch' button at the bottom of the page. Thank you for filing this
bug report and helping to make Ubuntu better.

[Bug 574538] Re: synchronization does not work

2010-05-04 Thread Greg Wilkins
I followed the instructions... and for a short while I thought it was working.
I saw the up and down arrows for the first time in a while.
It even created some directories on the server that I can see with the file
view
but then it hung and it has not moved any of the files themselves to the server.

I also clicked disconnect, which had no effect.

Attached is the tar of the log files.

regards
