SRU Justification

Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in
scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably
fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either
directly from Linus' tree or in a minimally backported form of that
patch.

The 2.6.32.21 upstream stable patch set is now available and contains
fixes for this problem. It should be included in the Ubuntu kernel as
well.

relying on the bios to Do The Right Thing. On the other hand, at the
time (17 Dec 2007) the 3stack addition for this PCI SSID was applied, it
was fairly common for the bios to be ... doing the wrong thing. So,
we'll get this pushed to stable@ and upstream. Hopefully in three years
vendors are less braindead.

This changed the sound preferences to have three options Microphone 1,

Microphone 1 worked with skype and you can see the meter change when

noise / voices are detected.


It would be nice if this worked without this mod ;) but at least there

is now some info on how to get it working.
