[Bug 57625] Re: at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode
Just cleaning up the older kernel tasks. This was fixed in 2.6.20. I'm closing the 2.6.17 and 2.6.15 tasks as this does not qualify for a stable release update. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Won't Fix ** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress = Won't Fix -- at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/57625 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 57625] Re: at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode
This patch is already in the driver in our 2.6.20 kernels. ** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Fix Released -- at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/57625 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 57625] Re: at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode
Aha. My problem was a different one, this time. I can confirm that my at76 usb dongle will rx and tx with the current feisty kernel. Does that mean this bug can be closed? -- at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/57625 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 57625] Re: at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode
This bug has been open for a while, and it still affects the latest feisty kernels. Any chance of getting this patch in, or perhaps even including the latest berlios driver in it? ** Also affects: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/57625 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 57625] Re: at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode
Just confirm that I have the same problem (with a WUSB11 V2.8) that the driver can't transmit when in Ad-Hoc. Turning on debug with 'iwpriv wlan0 set_debug 180' shows that it's receiving however the TX data doesn't show up (as it does in Managed mode). TX counter in 'ifconfig' doesn't increase either. I did find that the driver at http://at76c503a.berlios.de/ seems to work better. I'll try to check the patch out, Simon. -- at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/57625 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I wanted to report that the problem also exists in the latest Edgy kernel. My fix resolves the bug there, too. -- at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/57625 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 57625] Re: at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode
** Changed in: Ubuntu Sourcepackagename: None = linux-source-2.6.15 ** Description changed: Steps to reproduce: 1. load at76c503-rfmd.ko 2. iwconfig essid MYSSID (driver associates) 3. attempt to ping (no ping) 4. tcpdump -i wlan0 (shows incoming traffice) Expected: ping replies and outgoing packets. This bug does not occur with at76c503a-0.13, which was recently released. I did a diff of Ubuntu's version and 0.13, and found two hunks, which applied, resolves the bug in Ubuntu's version. I'll try to attach said patch, I don't see a button for that yet... - - Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'linux- - image-2.6'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu. -- at76c503 driver won't send in ad-hoc mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/57625 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
