Both my father and I have nvidia video cards. We're both using the
nvidia driver.

I tested it using the nv driver, and the crash doesn't occur. I think
this should be forwarded upstream (to nvidia's).

[Bug 57721] Re: Website crashes xorg!

2006-08-25 Thread yamal
Same happens here, Xorg crash when visiting that website with firefox. Crash
happens pretty much once loading the page is fully completed; next thing one
sees is the graphical login screen.
No problems (crash or other errors) happen with konqueror and opera. The web
site seems to function normally with these browsers.

Hardware is an nvidia (nv43) graphics card using nvidia driver (8762),
nothing unusual in dmesg or Xorg logs, syslog's only mentioning of the
crash is "kdm[5708]: X server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly".

kubuntu 6.06, all updates.

Nicolas,

Are you also using an nVidia video card? What video driver is your
father using? Which one are you using? What happens if you use the
VESA driver?

Thanks for answering my questions.

2006-08-25 Thread Nicolas da Luz Duque
I forgot to mention my father runs with a dapper updated daily. (so it's
the new package xserver-xorg-core 1:1.0.2-0ubuntu10.4 (but the bug was
already there with version 10.2). My father has a nvidia card.

Guillaume Desmottes hasn't been able to reproduce this bug, and I
haven't been able to test it on another machine than my father's.

Ok I tested it. It crashed my computer too. The site has to be
completely loaded. I thought it hadn't crashed, but after a few seconds
that was it: goodbye X.
