The problem seems to be much improved in the 10.10 release, kernel 2.6.35-22 is currently building a raid 6 on the MV8 controller as I write this (mv8 w/7 2tb drives, raid6). Hi Alex, If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
