Public bug reported:
The show desktop icon disappeared from the taskbar for the second time.
To get it back you just have to reboot. It's just strange that the
desktop icon disappears intermittently and then comes back after a
reboot. There is an empty space in the place where show desktop icon is
supposed to be.
