I can confirm this is a problem. The setting works if desktop effects are turned off (metacity?), but not if desktop effects are on (compiz?). I use desktop effects to show off Ubuntu to friends and also just for fun : ). My current way to handle the bug is to use alt+space for the window menu, then press a ( I think it's a ). A little longer but at least I can still do it entirely from the keyboard. A side note concerning my new approach, shouldn't it toggle like the minimize maximize? You can't have show on one desktop and show on all desktops both activated. Here, both have there own hotkeys : /.
