Public bug reported:

When installing almost any KDE application in a stock ubuntu install, I
end up having to install a ridiculous amount of additional packages as
dependencies. For example, installing kpat calls for kpackagekit,
mysql-client and server-core, update-manager-kde, and many other
applications and libraries that should have absolutely nothing to do
with kpat.

I fully expect to have to install the base kde and Qt libraries as
dependencies, but is kpat really designed in a way that it actually
requires akonadi and mysql??

This is not a specific report against kpat, I'm just using it as an
example. This seems to be a problem with almost all kde apps these
days.
