[Bug 58626] Re: pitivi failed to start

2009-02-02 Thread marco.pallotta
This bug is present in Hardy Heron x86_64
The error is:

The program 'pitivi' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 128 error_code 2 request_code 140 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

@dognews

To get mp3 working, etc...

try adding all ubuntu repositories and then

apt-get install gstreamer0.10*

and a bunch of codecs 'll be installed.

[Bug 58626] Re: pitivi failed to start

2007-01-03 Thread dognews
I've got the same problem with Kubuntu 6.10 (Edgy). I found out that I
can start it with pitivi --sync and then see the programm window. But
when I try to add an avi/mpeg to it, it gives me an error: The
following files weren't discovered properly: unknown stream type, but I
can add mp3 files.

Maybe that's normal, but it's still strange that it didn't start with $
pitivi.

I also have similar issues with Istanbul Bug #69825 - I wonder if this
is a GStreamer issue. Could someone else that has Pitivi issues please
try Istanbul and comment on that bug?

Pitivi fails here on Edgy with:

The program 'pitivi' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.

Running pitivi --sync works and outputs:

/usr/lib/pitivi/python/pitivi/ui/ruler.py:149: DeprecationWarning: integer
argument expected, got float
  for i in range(self.border, allocation.width, zoomRatio):

+1 here. Using updated Edgy Knot 3. I too can run it with --sync.

When running pitivi --sync, I get the error

Confirmed on Dapper 6.06.1 with pitivi 0.10.0-0ubuntu2, although the
