[Bug 586616] Re: Softlock in kernel with a faulty HD
Unfortunately, I'm RMA'ing the drive which caused this. Before I removed it, it wasn't even being detected anymore, so I'm not sure even if I had the drive I could reproduce it. But, what I think happened is that the drive died completely (versus just not being reliable), and when it dropped off of the SATA controller the kernel locked. If someone knows of another way to test that doesn't require the drive, and won't put my data at too much risk, please let me know. -- Softlock in kernel with a faulty HD https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/586616 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 586616] Re: Softlock in kernel with a faulty HD
Hi Andrew, If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. Looks like syslog didn't come in from apport-cli. The kernel fun starts at line 9226. ** Attachment added: "syslog" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/49236746/syslog -- Softlock in kernel with a faulty HD https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/586616 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
