Sorry for double-posting: Even recently opened files remain accessible! And not all folders are there, just some. Very strange. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/588783 Title: Data-CD not unmounted when using Eject-Button -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 588783] Re: Data-CD not unmounted when using Eject-Button
I have the same bug on Xubuntu 11.04 alpha1. The weirdest thing is: Even though the CD is ejected, its folder structure is still accessible (both in Thunar and from the terminal, so it can't be a Thunar-specific cache problem). However, trying to open files results in an I/O error.
Ok, now I'm on Maverick with Kernel 2.6.35-5 and this is still occouring. I'll attach the Kern.log again. ** Attachment added: "kern.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/50794681/kern.log ** Description changed: Referencing to Bug490925, I'm reporting this to the Kernel. Describtion: - When a Data-CD is mounted on my externel USB-CD-ROM and I ejekt it via + When a Data-CD is mounted on my external USB-CD-ROM and I eject it via the hardware-button, the CD is not unmounted. The Icon on the Desktop stays, also the entry in the Places-Bar. A new CD is not recognized. I'll attach the kern.log to this, as the last lines seem to be interesting. Tested with Kernel 2.6.34-Lucid (Mainline), it's also the same. [Bug 588783] Re: Data-CD not unmounted when using Eject-Button
Hi Thorsten, If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: kj-triage ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Data-CD not unmounted when using Eject-Button https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/588783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
