[Bug 591503] Re: odt created by abiword can't be opened by openOffice

2011-09-12 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I'm marking this as Fix Released since this was fixed in libgsf 1.14.18
which was shipped in Ubuntu 10.10 and later.

This could be a good candidate for a Stable Release Update for Ubuntu 11.04 if
someone would like to prepare it.

It's too late... The log for public bugs is also available on ubuntu-
b...@lists.ubuntu.com, which is mirrored by several mail archiving sites
(so even if it's removed from Launchpad, there will be tons of copies).
Moreover, you've already displayed the same infos in several other bug

2011-01-20 Thread viktor
Wasn't the file correctly attached in launchpad? Or do you mean you want the
original file created in OOo?
I didn't make a copy of this one but I could easily make another one with a
couple of manual pagebreaks.

[Bug 591503] Re: odt created by abiword can't be opened by openOffice

2011-01-19 Thread viktor
The bug I reported earlier (#704810), marked as duplicate by Charlie is
of a higher importance: dataloss!!!

The only workaround is to only trust and use native .abw or MS .doc
converter. MS Office docs created with Abiword are fully compatible with
OOo.

In my case only the first page, before the manual page-break, could be saved on
opening the abiword-created odt back into abiword after OOo failed to fix any
of the corrupted file.

I'm trying to reproduce it with a newly created file to pinpoint if this
comes from the way abiword saves the page-break in the odt format or if
this comes from other factors (preset numbered headlines, underlining
these, combination of several factors).
