 IMNSHO it isn't, and I did the plan for that. The release of wesnoth
1.8 and the release of lucid just did hit each other at the wrong time,
and I even had to fear that wesnoth 1.8 wouldn't get into lucid at all.
This is the best I was able to do in that short timegap.

 The unversioned package is in the works, see my blog about the
reasoning behind that move and the work plan - including hints on how
you can help to get there:

Marking this comment as invalid (would mark it won't fix, but can't)
because the package wesnoth-1.8 exists.  IMO this is the wrong way to do
things - making the latest stable release the base name of "wesnoth"
(and compat- or wesnoth-1.6 for the old version) seems more consistent
with the rest of the community.
