I see now that there was a suggested patch for this issue in the related branch, though I don't see any merge proposal connected to it. Though, mountmanager itself seems to have been removed from newer Ubuntu releases, so maybe that's related. I couldn't find a bug report on why it was removed, so I don't know if there was a particular reason for it. Maybe the suggested patch was dropped when the package was removed future releases?
