The installation with the deb backend for smart doesn't work, because PackageKit doesn't set PATH. - STDERR: dpkg: error: PATH is not set. It works with the rpm backend, since that uses the python module rather than the shell command... Still no packages showing up when clicking on the different categories in the left pane with Maverick and the latest updates that came through for PK.
