[Bug 605101] Re: gnome-volume-control: no internal microphone as input device port

2010-11-11 Thread David Kaplan
I installed linux/lucid-proposed and it works for me (aptitude initially
complained about dependencies, but seems to have figured things out). I
still have Line, Microphone 1 and Microphone 2 as sound input options
instead of Line, external Microphone and Internal Microphone, which
would be easier, but this is workable.

Cheers,
David

[Bug 605101] Re: gnome-volume-control: no internal microphone as input device port

2010-11-10 Thread Steve Conklin
Due to national holidays, the deadline for verification of fixes for the
-proposed kernel has been extended thru Monday, November 15th.

If verification that this bug is fixed by the -proposed kernel has not
occurred by that date, the change will be reverted and this bug will be
set to incomplete.

If you have tested the kernel in -proposed and found that it fixes the
bug on the original hardware, please change the bug tag verification-
needed to verification-done.

The new stable kernel release process under which these actions are
being taken is still being refined, and is documented here:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/StableReleaseCadence

Discussions about the new process tend to take place in #ubuntu-kernel
on IRC, so please contribute to the discussion there if you would like.

Thank you!

[Bug 605101] Re: gnome-volume-control: no internal microphone as input device port

2010-11-07 Thread David Kaplan
Would you mind telling me exactly which package I should install to test
this? I looked at proposed, but didn't see the right kernel version.
Perhaps I am not using aptitude correctly (which I very seldomly use).
NOTE: I am using lucid, not maverick.

Thanks.

2010-11-05 Thread Steve Conklin
This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves
the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the
results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed'
to 'verification-done'.

If verification is not done by Thursday, November 11, this fix will be
dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

2010-07-29 Thread David Henningsson
Thanks for reporting this bug! For some reason this model is labeled
iMic instead of Int Mic, so PulseAudio does not pick it up as a
microphone input. I've sent a report upstream, and assuming it is
merged, you should have a fixed version in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules in a few
days from now.

[Bug 605101] Re: gnome-volume-control: no internal microphone as input device port

2010-07-13 Thread David Kaplan
I would add the gnome-alsamixer does not allow me to choose the input
source (i.e., input source is just a check box in gnome-alsamixer and
there is no way to attach an input source to a particular device).
