[Bug 606893] Re: Hewlett-Packard HP 625: no speaker sound in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) fresh install
Hi folks, Can you please test if you're still having the same problem in Maverick? If so, and you're not having the same hardware as the original poster (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/SameHardware ), can you please file a separate bug for your issue? Thanks! ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- Hewlett-Packard HP 625: no speaker sound in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) fresh install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/606893 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 606893] Re: Hewlett-Packard HP 625: no speaker sound in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) fresh install
I can confirm this bug. I too have an HP laptop with Lucid. Speakers dont work but headphones do. Upgrading to alsa 1.0.23 solves the issue. When Ubuntu has a kernel update it goes back to the old 1.0.21 alsa driver and the problem comes back. It must be an issue with the 1.0.21 alsa driver. -- Hewlett-Packard HP 625: no speaker sound in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) fresh install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/606893 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

@NicoLehmann On my HP 625 I don't have problems with wireless lan. Which kernel version do you have? At the moment I'm running version 2.6.32-25.43. If you have problems with version 2.6.32-25.44 or higher, you should downgrade and/or file a new bug report. @markusd112 Did you try installing the packages from linux-proposed repository? -- Hewlett-Packard HP 625: no speaker sound in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) fresh install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/606893 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I had the same problem - internal speakers and internal mic didn't work. Yelavich's solution did work for me - however, the sound is very low and the mic is not very strong either. Plus, in Skype it produces bad feedback. In a nutshell: Sound volume and recording volume are too low. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

akaname, thanks for the tip. I had the same problem with Same Ubuntu version with HP-Mini 110 -3000 Netbook. The ALSA driver was also the same and misreported the hardware as well After updating the repositories, and ALSA and the Kernel, my system finally has sound after a reboot. Unfortuneately, I spent hours looking for this very fix, and tweaking the wrong things - so easy in the end Cheers -- Hewlett-Packard HP 625: no speaker sound in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) fresh install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/606893 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 606893] Re: Hewlett-Packard HP 625: no speaker sound in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) fresh install
The newest alsa driver snapshot does not work properly. Speakers and line-out work, but the output volume is very very low, so you won't hear much. All alsamixer channels are raised to max. http://www.alsa- project.org/db/?f=1dd5408f1862cfaf7dd8974cf18907d71bbccd32 -- Hewlett-Packard HP 625: no speaker sound in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) fresh install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/606893 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
