*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 590963 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/590963 Only barely different symptoms (boot hasn't failed for you /yet/, but it doesn't always fail in #590963 either), but it's the same bug - ureadahead eats all memory, resulting it it being OOM-killed, along with plymouthd. I don't see any reason to clutter up the tracker with multiple reports on this one, all that does is tax developer time. I don't think it a duplicate of bug #590963. In that one it is reported that boot fails as part of the problem. In my case it NEVER actually fails to boot. Also, that is a bug report for 10.04 and mine is 10.10. Although it may end up being the same problem I think a different ubuntu version brings in too many other variables to take into account.
