I haven't used Transmission in quite some time because I have been focusing on other problems/bugs/life, however, I discovered today that Transmission STILL causes a kernel panic on my T42 Thinkpad after a random amount of time. Sometimes it's 5 minutes, sometimes it's and hour and happens regardless if the computer is being used or not. Oddly enough the kernel panic does NOT seem to occur when the laptop is on battery, but the battery is old and only lasts for about 30 minutes so I have not extensively tested that. This problem is something that happens 100% of the time and is completely reproducible: Make sure laptop is on AC power, Open Transmission, wait some time, watch it crash and burn (KP). Clockwork. Hi MrMacman2u, Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal).
