[Bug 61858] Re: accented vowels

2006-10-17 Thread _kai_
I have solved the problem, but I guess is a little shoddy.

1. Edit your /etc/X11/Xsession and add this line at its begining:
export QT_IM_MODULE=simple

2. Restart your X session

The problem was KDE use an incorrect Input Method for the spanish
language: xim. Setting the Input Method to the simple solve this
problem.

IHTH!

Ok, in gnome you must use the GTK_IM_MODULE variable.

Tell me if this worked for you.

[Bug 61858] Re: accented vowels

2006-09-29 Thread _kai_
I can confirm this, due I have a similar problem... I've upgraded my
kubuntu distribution to edgy, but when I restarted my system, I was
unable to white accented character, all what I get is a Ž.

For example:
I want to write this: ¡es el camión más rápido que he visto!

But I get: ¡es el camiŽon mŽas rŽapido que he visto!

Cheers!

I've discovered how to type an accented vowel, for example, á it's a
combination of alt gr + a.

Nothing else...
