[Bug 62083] Re: Neither Mplayer nor Totem work with the codecs any more

2006-09-24 Thread Alberto Milone
Ok, I have installed totem-gstreamer and reinstalled totem-xine and now
I can play my videoclips again. It looks like this "libxine-extracodecs"
was uninstalled by some other application (I guess)

I have another problem with Mplayer when I play another file (which
works just fine now). I complains about this:

Error
Requested audio codec family [mp3] (afm=mp3lib) not available. Enable it a
compilation

But the file plays smoothly

[Bug 62083] Re: Neither Mplayer nor Totem work with the codecs any more

2006-09-24 Thread Alberto Milone
my architecture is i386

mplayer is Version: 2:0.99+1.0pre8-0ubuntu6
totem-xine is Version: 2.16.1-1ubuntu1

I've noticed that if I try to play the files from the command line in mplayer
they work. If use them from the GUI they don't

here is the output of the command line when they work:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/codec/codecnew$ mplayer

[Bug 62083] Re: Neither Mplayer nor Totem work with the codecs any more

2006-09-24 Thread Alberto Milone
If I try to play the same file from the command line with Totem (xine):

the command line says:

 totem /media/hdc5/alberto/Shared/"DragonBall Z - Movie 14 - History of
Trunks.avi"
** Message: w 620 h 436 sidebar 200
Loading codec DLL: 'divxa32.acm'
Loaded DLL driver divxa32.acm
Loading codec DLL: 'divxc32.dll'
Loaded DLL driver divxc32.dll
** Message: w 620 h 436 sidebar 200
Total Unfree 4296 bytes cnt 2 [(nil),0]

But the gui says:

Totem could not play 'file:///media/hdc5/alberto/Shared/DragonBall Z -
Movie 14 - History of Trunks.avi'.

Video codec 'MS MPEG-4 V3 (win32)' is not handled. You might need to
install additional plugins to be able to play some types of movies

With both mplayer-nogui and totem-xine that is.

I can play both fine on i386. What architecture are you using?
