Ok, I have installed totem-gstreamer and reinstalled totem-xine and now I can play my videoclips again. It looks like this "libxine-extracodecs" was uninstalled by some other application (I guess) I have another problem with Mplayer when I play another file (which works just fine now). I complains about this: Error Requested audio codec family [mp3] (afm=mp3lib) not available. my architecture is i386 mplayer is Version: 2:0.99+1.0pre8-0ubuntu6 totem-xine is Version: 2.16.1-1ubuntu1 I've noticed that if I try to play the files from the command line in mplayer they work.
