Public bug reported: Binary package hint: software-center
I downloaded and opened the Adobe Flash APT package from Adobe.com and after I clicked "install" I caught a glimpse of "Installing" which promptly vanished and then there was no indication if the package had actually installed or not as there was no visual indication (like the button labelled "install" switching to read "remove") this was very confusing behaviour. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu maverick (development branch) Release: 10.10 $ apt-cache policy software-center software-center: Installed: 2.1.10 Candidate: 2.1.10 Version table: *** 2.1.10 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: software-center 2.1.10 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-16.22-generic 2.6.35.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-16-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Aug 20 15:32:07 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Alpha i386 (20100803.1) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: software-center ** Affects: software-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 maverick ubuntu-une -- Unable to tell if an application package install succeeded https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/621362 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
