Please note bug #789075 and bug #789271 as support for either doing something about this package, or else to drop it from Ubuntu. Given that there is a sporadically-maintained third-party PPA which tracks upstream Emacs better than this package, it might actually be a disservice to Emacs users to pretend to support this old package if it's not actively kept up to date.
