I have the same problem, but when i give the shutdown command, nothing happens, no process running is stopped. I have to manually close the quickstart tray and then I'm able to shutdown the system. Note, If I don't finalize quickstart before run shutdown computer, the computer close gnome session but does not shutdown the system and I have to press and hold shutdown button in my laptop to turn off this before the SO shutdown. This is insane for my computer and file system, so I had to remove quickstart now.
