The same problem still persists. The difference of text color is evident when using Ambiance theme and e.g. High Contrast theme (see screenshot above). I won't confirm this bug because I'm not sure if the issue is specifically light-themes, but I have noticed the same thing. Most of the themes give the dark grey text, but some (like the GNOME theme) give black text.
