Public bug reported: The external HD is in an enclosure that connects using a PC Card providing USB 3.0 to my laptop. I can connect to the drive using USB 2.0 successfully without a problem. The drive is formatted (FAT) and encrypted using the encryption option when I formatted the drive.
>From the lspci command it looks like the module xhci is used to address this device. When I copy files to the hard disk, it will start to copy but after a while fail with I/O errors. I do not have another USB 3.0 port that I could test this with, so I do not know whether it is the PC Card or a USB 3.0 driver issue. I would appreciate any help resolving this issue. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- USB 3.0 External Hard Disk I/O Errors https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/630537 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
