[Bug 63496] Re: Upgrading from Dapper to Edgy: could not install 'spring-basedata'

2006-10-05 Thread Snap
"spring-basedata" was installed from a non-official download feed ? I
have absolutely no idea from wich feed I got this package. So I can't
tell its developpers the problem.

When I got the error, I kept the error message opened to fill this bug.
Few minutes later, X seems to restart itself because it say me an error
message about incorrect nvidia packages. I reinstalled Ubuntu but
unfortunately, s/Ubuntu/Linux wants to format all partitions excepting
/home. Do you know why it's impossible not to format these partitions ?

Good luck in resolving bugs, I will wisely wait for the stable release :)

[Bug 63496] Re: Upgrading from Dapper to Edgy: could not install 'spring-basedata'

2006-10-04 Thread Michael Vogt
Thanks for your bugreport.

Unfortunately I have to close this bug because the problem is caused by a
unofficial package. The error is:
--8<--
Removing spring-basedata ...
E: Mod directory '/usr/share/spring/mods' doesn't exist
dpkg: error processing spring-basedata (--remove):
subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 1
--8<--

Please tell the people who provide this package to fix their "postrm"
script. This will fix the error.

As a workaround (for you) you could create this director via "sudo mkdir
/usr/share/spring/mods" and then try to remove the package "spring-
basedata").
