[Bug 635577] Re: Kernel keeps reporting "EH complete" for ATA hd disk
Mainline kernel 2.6.35.4-maverick The ubuntu maverick kernel keeps reporting ( in dmesg without the >>) >> >> ata3.00: configured for UDMA/100 >> ata3: EH complete >> while there are no apparent problems with my harddrive or controller. I have also tested mainline kernel 2.6.35.4-maverick. The problem exists there as well. So this is a vanilla kernel 'problem'. Removed 'requires upstream testing' tag. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.35-20-generic - I read somewhere that earlier version of kernel repored EH complete for - ATA drivers incorrectly. [Bug 635577] Re: Kernel keeps reporting "EH complete" for ATA hd disk
Hi RichardN, If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: kj-triage ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Kernel keeps reporting "EH complete" for ATA hd disk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/635577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
