I was experiencing this bug on an Edgy system, installed the proposed package, and there's no bug anymore. I can confirm that in 6.10, Bluefish 1.0.6 crashes when using any save function if .bluefish/session doesn't exist. This seems to be the only file in the directory that it depends on. If you don't, and this is a new install, can you try as a workaround opening a file (any file) first, then trying to save a new document. If this workaround works, then we have a fix to apply.
