I used wireshark to capture the network exchange, and rhythmbox is getting a 404 because it mangles the URL. The download URL has a query portion, apparently a redirect, looking something like "?http://website";. However, wireshark shows rhythmbox requesting "?http:/website". I downloaded the vanilla source for rhythmbox and compiled it with debugging info in an attempt to track down the problem, but the bug does not occur in vanilla rhythmbox!
