Maybe it would be nice for aptitude to pre-download the list of changelog files along with the packages that can updated, and display it all on one page even? I think it would be more intuitive that way, than to navigate around the list and downloading each change one by one by pressing C. Pressing capital 'C' instead of 'i' will show you the package changelog, and even highlights new changelog entries by making them fat if there's an update for the package. Isn't that sufficient? No. There is an important feature in synaptic I am missing in aptitude: In the changes tab under Description of update (c.f. screenshot) you see the change-log of this update. Then you can decide if you want to install the update or not.
