While the problem still exists, the latest usplash theme tries to work as best as possible. There are still problems but these will only be solved by a new infrastructure and not new pictures. We will use the newest usplash-theme-ubuntu package (https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-art-pkg/usplash-theme- ubuntu/ubuntu). Note that this has been approved by sabdfl.
